Eligibility:
Recipients will be outstanding early career researchers, typically advanced in their PhD candidature or within five years of receiving their PhD (or equivalent). Through their CV, applicants will need to demonstrate a strong record of research achievements, including first-author, high impact publications and award of research funding.

This Fellowship was initiated at the London meeting in 2009 and is limited to UK researchers working in a microbiology field. The recipient will be an outstanding early career research microbiologist.

These awards will be made to PhD or Masters students and clinical trainees who have an oral abstract accepted for the Congress. Numbers will depend on availability of funds and sponsors’ requirements, but scholarships will be awarded in order of merit. Applicants will be required to produce evidence of their student enrolment or clinical trainee status. Factors that will be considered will include:
